Week #7 What are men compared to rocks and mountains?

Last week was so amazing. It was probably one of my favorite weeks that I have had while here in England. First, we went to King's Cross Station to go to Platform 9 3/4.

King's Cross

Off to Hogwarts!
Then, on Wednesday and Thursday we took our first ever overnight trip. Our trip started out by going to Glastonbury Cathedral. It is now in ruins, but it is the place where people believe King Arthur and Queen Guinevere are buried.

I loved how the flowers grew in a circle. It is king of like a fairy ring.

This was our tour guide. He was so funny/weird.
No he is not a real monk, but that made him all the funnier.

Here is where they say King Arthur and Queen Guinevere are buried.
Although most people don't believe it, it is still fun to see it.
After Glastonbury, we made our way to the Tintagel Castle ruins. Let me tell you, I had no idea before hand what it was going to be like, but I loved every minute when we got there. It is one of the most beautiful places in the world.

All of the stones in the walls were stacked like this.
Just a lovely herringbone pattern.

It wouldn't be a trip without a Hali and Hannah selfie

My time spent at Tintagel was not enough, but I am so glad that I was able to go there. After we left we made our way to our hotel in Newquay. Which is a beautiful town that is also on the coast.

The Hotel Victoria
View from my hotel window. Not too shabby.
That night a group of us decided to go and jump into the ocean. We figured we had to jump in it since we were so literally right by it.

Us in all our glory

Ok. So I want this house. How would you like first, wake up to that view and
second be able to walk across that bridge everyday?

After spending the night at Newquay we went to Land's End (No, not the clothing store).

Found this carved into the rock. "R" for Rich!

After dealing with the wind and rain at Land's End, we made our way to St. Michael's Mount.

Roomies on the bus
This is St. Michael's Mount. Yes, that is a castle on a little island just off the coast. Pretty darn amazing.
So depending on the time of the day, you can walk to St. Michael's Mount via the causeway, luckily for us, the causeway was not clear yet so we had to take the boat truck.

Boat truck: a boat and a truck. A vehicle that can drive on land and on water.

Cool mural on the side of one of the building on the island.

Another view of the boat truck
St. Michael's Mount has been the host of a great legend.
"Legend says that a mythical giant named Cormoran once lived on the Mount, and he used to wade ashore and steal cows and sheep from the villagers to feed his gargantuan appetite.
One night, a local boy called Jack rowed out to the island and dug a deep pit while the giant was asleep. As the sun rose, Jack blew a horn to wake the angry giant who staggered down from the summit and – blinded by the sunlight – fell into the pit and died."
On the way up there is a rock that is said to be the heart of the giant and if you put your ear up to it, you can hear the heartbeat.
I think I heard something
The beautiful castle. It is still inhabited by the family.

Wouldn't mind seeing this view every morning.
...Or this.

So yeah, this trip was so much fun. I can't believe everything I saw and did. I am so grateful for everything I am able to do, and I can't wait for the rest of our trips.
