Week #10

Week #10 was a really good week.

While walking one day, me and some of my friends realized that there are tennis courts over at Hyde Park. We decided to take advantage of them and go rent some courts and play. It was so much fun. I couldn't believe that I was playing tennis in London. The coolest part was that from where we were playing you could see the London Eye in the background. It was just so amazing. Not to mention that the weather was perfect.

When we were doing our walk on Friday, we ran into this cute cutouts. Aren't Abbie and I darling?

Saturday we had the opportunity to go and hike around the farming lands of Kent. Everything was so beautiful.

Part of the hike was right by a golf course. The entire time I was thinking of my
dad and brothers and how much they would love to be here golfing.

My shoes got supper muddy. Luckily there was a river that I
 could wash them off in.

Our group!
Sunday we decided to go for an afternoon walk in Hyde Park. It was such a nice and sunny day out, and to our surprise there were literally thousands of people in the park enjoying the weather. That is something that I love about London, the people here enjoy their parks. When the weather is nice, they go to the park. It was so much fun.

Now this is darling.

Ducks play fetch here.

Another great week here on the island.

Week #9

Ok, here is week #9.

On that Monday, my friend Abbie and I went and saw the play Once. I had been dying to see it and was so excited when she said she wanted to go too. The play was amazing. It was like going to a concert. The actors were so talented. All of them could not only act, but they could sing and play and instrument as well.

On Tuesday, as part of our program we all got to go and see La Boheme at the Royal Albert Hall, which is just down the street from where I live. It was the first time that I had been to an opera, and I am happy to say that I really enjoyed it.

On Wednesday for our day trip we went to Windsor Castle. So basically we went to Will and Kate's future home, since it is their family that owns it. Needless to say it is pretty nice.

Saturday we were able to go and take a tour through Parliament. Unfortunately I wasn't able to take pictures, but it was so amazing. What a beautiful building.

We could only take pictures in the Grand Hall.
After going through the Houses of Parliament, we then were able to go down into the Cabinet War Rooms. Before going in, we went on a walk through St. James's Park and got ice cream.

The War Rooms were really neat. Rooms we went into have been unchanged since World War II. It was like stepping back in time.

So all in all it was a pretty good week. Looking back now, I can't believe everything I was able to do in one week.

Week #8

Well I have literally been nonexistent on the blog for the last few weeks. Things have gotten busy and lets face it, I have gotten a little lazy. So, I am going to try and catch up on the last four or so weeks. Here we go!

So we were able to go and see Jane Austen's grave in Winchester Cathedral. It was really crazy seeing it in real life. Especially since it was in the ground of the cathedral and I could just walk over it.

In the town of Winchester, before we left to go to Jane Austen's home we were able to run over and see  a round table that was made to be like the one King Arthur used. It was huge, this picture doesn't do it justice.

Then after being able to go and see her grave, we got to go to her house, Chawton. It was the house where she lived during her last days, and did most of her writing. It was so neat going through it and being able to stand where she once stood, look out the same windows she did, walk up her stairs, etc. It was just really fun.

On Saturday we went to Borough Market. This place is every foodie's dream. It is basically a market that is packed with food from all over. I could have eaten everything and anything. Every turn had a new smell (good or bad) and something else that was amazing to look at and even better to eat.

I want you to look at that pile of cheese.

Yes, that pile of cheese.

This grilled cheese was so delicious.
It had so much cheese my arteries were clogging.

This is a puddle of grease that was left over from my sandwich.
See what I mean when I said that my arteries were clogging.

This week was a lot of fun. I loved going to the country and seeing all of the beautiful places there. Borough Market was crazy. I have never been around so much food in my life.
